We provide compassionate, evidence-based care to support mental health, emotional well-being, and personal growth in a welcoming environment. Whether online or in person, Shauna utilizes a variety of psychotherapeutic interventions, discussed as part of the individualized treatment plan, to best serve her clients.

What We Offer
Session Time: Approximately 60-90 minutes
Initial assessments are essential for understanding your needs and provide valuable information to the clinician. These sessions are more comprehensive and may take additional time due to the amount of information gathered.
Session Time: Approximately 50-55 minutes
Individual therapy offers a private, one-on-one setting to explore and achieve personal goals, relationships, and life directions. It supports personal growth, new perspectives, and can be beneficial at any stage of life.

Session time: Approximately 30-45 minutes (longer if needed)
We provide individual therapy for children and adolescents (ages 8-18) to support emotional regulation, behavior issues, anxiety, depression, and school challenges. Therapy helps them navigate their unique experiences and form their identities.

We offer family therapy for those facing conflicts, communication issues, or relationship distress. Focus areas include communication skills, relationship enrichment, divorce and separation, and parenting.

We offer a virtual clinic alongside our physical space to make psychotherapy more accessible. Our HIPAA-compliant platform ensures your privacy and confidentiality.

Billing, Insurance, and Payment Policies
Therapy is a valuable and helpful resource, therefore covered in part or full by most insurance companies. Before your initial appointment, please call your insurance to verify coverage. Below are some recommended questions to ask your insurance company.
- Is outpatient behavioral health therapy covered by my plan?
- Is State of Mind Behavioral Health in-network? Do I need a referral from my primary care provider?
- If not, does my plan cover out-of-network providers?
- How many sessions/year does my plan cover?
- What is my deductible and copay? Have I met my current deductible?
- If applicable, does my plan cover Virtual Therapy/Telehealth?
State of Mind Behavioral Health, PLLC has a set fee schedule that is consistent with recommended governmental guidelines suggested by the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), reimbursement schedules of most insurance companies, and those charged by other local licensed clinical social workers and mental health counselors. Please contact our office to discuss fees and billing issues further.
We will not deny service based on the ability to pay, if you have concerns or need assistance, please contact Shauna to discuss additional options.
You have a right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. For questions and/or more information regarding your right to a Good Faith Estimate, please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
Cash, Checks, Payment by insurance, and all major credit cards are appropriate forms of payment for services.
If you are unable to attend your session, please notify Shauna at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled time or you may be charged a $100.00 fee. This fee may be charged each time you cannot attend a session. No-shows and Late Cancellation Fees are NOT covered by insurance. Therefore you will be fully responsible for the payment of this fee.
